Director of Operations
St. Michael's Catholic High School
Lees Summit, MO

Status: Full time
Reports To: President

St. Michael the Archangel Catholic High School (SMA) in Lee's Summit, Missouri calls young men and women through a relationship with Jesus Christ, to embrace their God-given gifts in order to Know Truth, Love God, and Serve Others as His brave and humble disciples. The Director of Operations will serve as a strategic business advisor, consultant and decision-maker helping SMA plan and reach their financial, operations, and human resources goals. This full-time position is benefits eligible and reports to the School President.

Duties/Responsibilities:
• Prepare, administer, and review budget process in collaboration with Leadership Team and the Finance Committee, subject to review and/or approval as required.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for the President, Finance Committee and others as needed; maintain bookkeeping records.
• Review the cash position with the President, monthly or more frequently as needed. Direct cash management to include deposits, bank reconciliations, managing disbursements and assisting in school collections.
• Manage compliance with annual external audits and debt financings.
• Maintain sound banking relationships, including the reconciliation of all banking records.
• Coordinate liability and property insurance, and workers compensation.
• Perform core HR administrative functions such as payroll, onboarding, benefits administration, timekeeping, and medical leaves such as STD and/or FMLA.
• Manage the effective, efficient and safe maintenance, renovation and upkeep of school buildings and grounds.
• Plan, implement and maintain building and campus security systems, procedures and processes.

• Maintain a courteous and professional demeanor as a representative of St. Michael's.
• Develop and maintain productive relationships with the President, Faculty and Staff, and School Community of students, parents and alumni.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Exercise planning and organizational skills and meet deadlines through problem-solving and multi-tasking.
• Adapt to change; participate in and support process improvement.
• Productive relationships with Diocesan partners (finance and HR) as well as with other schools (both elementary and high school.)
Qualifications
• Undergraduate degree in business or accounting, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of five years' experience in accounting, finance or closely related field; non-profit experience is preferred.
• Intermediate to advanced skill in QuickBooks and Excel; works equally well with Mac and PC software.
• Certified Public Accountant as credentialed by the AICPA.
• A practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church is highly preferred; a person of the Christian faith who supports the Mission and participates in the faith life of the parish and school will be considered.
• Knowledge of Sage Intacct accounting system is preferred.
