Job Description
Job Title: Appeals Coordinator (Part Time)Location: Catholic Pastoral Center (Colorado Springs, CO)
Date Open: Open Now
Desired Start Date: As soon as practical.
Pay Rate: $21.00 - $22.00 per hour.
Hours: Monday through Friday 8:00am - 1:00p.m. (25 hours/week)
Benefits: Part Time employees receive holiday pay and earn discretionary based on hours worked.
Position Summary: To assist the Director as the project manager for the Annual Diocesan Ministry Appeal (DMA), Vocations Appeal and upcoming Catholic Schools Appeal. Every employee of the Stewardship and Development team is expected to exemplify a spirit of service to others, in words and actions, to support clergy and religious; volunteers; colleagues; parish communities, and all others in a compassionate, professional, truthful, and friendly manner.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Manage all the pieces of the different annual appeals in collaboration with the Director and with the assistance of third-party vendors.
Work with the Director and third-party vendors to design and execute all marketing collateral for the appeals. This includes: Bishop communication pieces; brochures; remit envelopes; posters; video scripts; implementation materials for parishes; all parish communication pieces; ad material for the Catholic Herald (Wrap, Double Truck, Half Page Ads); the appeal website and relevant social media content.
Generate, print and mail reminder letters, acknowledgement letters and end of year tax statements.
Serve as the point of contact for third party vendors including program consultants, mail house, data analysts, videographer, graphic designers, etc.
Implement the DMA grants program by communicating with parishes, schools, grant committee and outside ministry applicants on the grants process, timeline, and overall procedures.
Create and publish an impact report for the DMA annually based on information provided by the Finance Office.
Create and run queries in ParishSOFT and Raisers Edge for data analysis and segmentation.
Help maintain ParishSOFT and Raiser's Edge by identifying where missing data valves and errors occur by generating queries and correcting errors and missing data.
Produce monthly reports on the status of DMA for the diocesan ebulletin, E-vangelize.
Produce weekly email updates on the DMA to Priests, Deacons and parishes with parish DMA promotional materials.
Develop and maintain relationships with pastors and other clergy and laity to assist with the different appeal program implementation, including some travel to parishes and locations within diocese.
Generate monthly reminders for donors who wish to receive a paper reminder monthly.
Generate queries for all appeal related mailings as well as end of year giving statements.
Clean up mailing queries by identifying errors, duplicates and missing data to ensure clean, accurate and successful mailings.
Additional Administration Duties:
Answer inbound calls from donors professionally, with high energy and a positive attitude.
Assist and attend events to recognize donors.
Assist with other diocesan development efforts as necessary.
Other duties as assigned.
Education or Formal Training/Experience
Bachelor's degree in communications, Marketing, Nonprofit management or English preferred or minimum of 3 years of related nonprofit fundraising, development or communications experience.
One to three years in a similar position. Experience in the development office or customer service-related field preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy, the ability to prioritize and organize multiple projects, meet deadlines, problem-solve and multi-task, make good judgments and perform effectively under pressure.
Ability to establish and maintain positive professional relationships with diverse constituent groups of all ages and backgrounds.
Excellent computer skills, specifically MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Mail Merge)
Experience with Raiser's Edge and ParishSOFT, or similar CRM database or ability to learn quickly.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to thrive and work effectively, independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge of fundraising principles and procedures preferred.
Ability to enthusiastically articulate and promote diocesan goals and philosophies related to stewardship and development.

Work Environment
Most of the assigned duties are performed in an office environment.
