Job Description

Scope of the Position:
The Executive Director is a new full-time position, reporting to the President/CEO. This person will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the organization, staff, and its office in Rapid City, SD. Other primary responsibilities include managing annual fundraising and budget, executing the annual strategic plan for the organization, overseeing marketing and communications, ensuring the attainment of staff goals and objectives, and interfacing and managing contractor and vendor relationships. The organization is seeking a person who will work independently, is highly goal driven, thinks innovatively, is well grounded in pro-life ethics, and has a heart for the unique pro-life mission of HTC.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Create and execute an annual development plan to raise philanthropic gifts required to meet organizational obligations. This includes donor cultivation and event planning and execution.
• With the President, develop an annual operations plan for advancing the goals of the organization while maintaining the support infrastructure required.
• Supervise and manage staff to achieve the highest levels of organization, effectiveness and efficiency.
• Serve as the main contact and supervisor for consultants, vendors, and contract workers, assisting in the negotiation of agreements, and documenting and monitoring scope of work.
• Speak on behalf of the organization as needed, expressing the positions and philosophies of HTC.
• Develop relationships and partnerships with regional clergy.
• Develop and monitor an annual budget that meets the organizational plans and goals.
• Oversee timely filings of all government-required documents and financial reports.
• Supervise bookkeeping, accounting, and database to ensure accuracy and proper reporting.

Qualifications:
• Five to seven years of direct organizational management and leadership experience, including management of paid staff.
• Five to seven years of progressive experience in fundraising for nonprofits (preferably faith-based organizations).
• A bachelor's or master's degree.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, exceptionally well-organized and detail oriented.
• A deep and personal commitment to the pro-life position.
• Ability for moderate travel both regionally and nationally for donor visits and events.

Compensation:
• Commensurate with experience. Benefits package negotiable.
