Job Description
The part-time Assistant for Environmental Engineering will assist the Environmental Engineer with answering incoming calls, scheduling AHERA inspections, filing proper paperwork with parishes and schools, and coordinating reinspection appointments. Additionally, the Assistant will coordinate lead inspections in water and/or paint, filing appropriate paperwork and coordinating appointments. The Assistant may also be asked to support the documentation in other facility related projects such as, BERDO and ground water runoff. The Assistant for Environmental Engineering will report to the Environmental Engineer. This is a 25 hour per week position.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate AHERA periodic surveillances and re-inspections of asbestos containing materials with the outside vendors and parishes and schools.
Assure inspection reports are obtained from the vendor and then distributed to school contacts in a timely manner.
Maintain a spreadsheet of inspection due dates and follow-up activities.
May also assist with other related clerical duties such as photocopying, faxing, filing and mailings.
Assist with the coordination of lead inspections and sampling.
Assist with other Facility related projects such as storm water run off and energy efficiency.
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent with 1-2 years experience.
Excellent phone etiquette
Excellent verbal communication skills
Possess exceptional interpersonal communication skills
Punctual
Able to work with minimal supervision
Knowledge of MS Office (word, excel, outlook)
Ability to multi-task
Strong service orientation.
Willingness to support the mission of the Catholic Church.
PHYSICAL PERFORMANCE ELEMENTS:
Ability to use a computer keyboard for up to 8 hours/day.
Ability to sit for up to 8 hours/day.
Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
