Assistant Director of Communications & EventsType: Remote with some travel
Hours: 40/week

Position Overview:
Dominican Veritas Ministries, Inc. (DVM) seeks an Assistant Director of Communications and
Events to advance the organization's mission and vision. The position works closely with the
Executive Director and the Director of Formation to strengthen partnerships, learning, and
community across thirteen sponsored ministries and a network of elementary and secondary
Dominican school educators. The ideal candidate is a talented professional with prior work
experience in a non-profit organization, is effective in an entrepreneurial and dynamic work
environment that requires flexibility and attention to detail, and has excellent skills in writing,
design, time management, event planning, and digital media. This is a full time, remote position,
starting spring 2025.
About Dominican Veritas Ministries, Inc.
Dominican Veritas Ministries, Inc. is a non-profit, Catholic and Dominican organization,
established in 2022 by five US Dominican Sister Congregations to be the canonical sponsor of
an initial nine elementary and secondary Catholic schools. Today, DVM sponsors 13 schools
and hosts an online learning community with stakeholders from 20 schools. DVM is responsible
for the successful formation and governance of its sponsored ministries, supporting elementary
and secondary schools' commitment to furthering the Catholic identity and Dominican charism
with which they were founded. These efforts are accomplished through in-person gatherings,
transformative learning experiences, and dynamic collaboration across the entire DVM
Community.
Dominican Veritas Ministries is staffed by a small yet dedicated team, consisting of an Executive
Director, Director of Formation, Assistant Director of Communications and Events, and a part-
time Executive Assistant.
Core responsibilities:
Dominican Veritas Ministries seeks a talented team player to help develop, communicate,
coordinate, and manage a series of essential and emerging projects and events. The Assistant
Director of Communications and Events will:
* Support the DVM mission and approach all work with a mission-centric mindset
* Manage DVM's communication platforms: website, intranet site, and learning
management system
* Help develop and implement customized communications plan
* Create digital designs and custom materials to support collaboration, formation, and
messaging of DVM activities and events
* Facilitate online network meetings with school-based communications and marketing
professionals
* Oversee the production and distribution of DVM News, DVM's monthly newsletter
* Support hospitality, logistics, and programming for events including an annual in-person
conference and weekly online gatherings
* Liaise with venue in the planning, development, and running of events
* Support participant and presenter experience of events-prior, during, and follow up
* Manage a dynamic DVM calendar for sponsored ministries
* Engage in professional development opportunities to continuously grow with the field,
engage best practices and current/emerging trends in faith formation, leadership, and
technology
* Any other duties as assigned by the Executive Director
This is a remote position. DVM will provide a computer, monitor, and basic office equipment
necessary for the role for the home office. Regarding travel, the Assistant Director of
Communications and Events will attend two to three DVM community events a year: an annual
conference and two in-person DVM staff planning retreats.

In addition to fulfilling the particular duties listed above, the Assistant Director of Communications and Events will be expected to bring the following professional qualities to the
role:
*Organization-DVM is a remote operation and requires excellence in digital office
management, including file storage and document sharing practices
*Communication-excellence in written and verbal formats; experience with various
professional writing genres such as press releases, brochures, newsletters, etc
*Event and Project Management-demonstrated enthusiasm for and experience
managing a variety of projects and events.

ministry

Position Requirements:
Bachelors degree in communications, marketing, or related field
Minimum of 4 years of professional communications experience
Minimum of 2 years experience organizing professional in-person events
Advanced skill with remote office productivity, communication, and collaboration software,
including Google Workspace, Apple/Microsoft, Constant Contact, and Zoom
Experience managing online educational platforms for collaboration, networking, and learning
Physical ability to lift 40 lbs
Full time residence in the United States
Occasional travel to conferences, meetings, etc
Compensation:
Commensurate with experience and level of qualification.
