Job Description
Position Overview:The Director of Marketing will oversee the management, ideation, and execution of CatholicVote's marketing initiatives, digital presence, and support our election activities. This individual will ensure the seamless execution of campaigns, manage relationships with vendors, coordinate cross-departmental projects, manage 4+ direct reports, and provide leadership for multiple teams. The ideal candidate will have experience in website management, fundraising support, strategic planning, and communication leadership within a mission-driven environment.
What You Will Do
1. Campaign Development and Execution
- Create and lead the execution of comprehensive marketing campaigns for initiatives, events, and advocacy efforts.
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams to create materials such as postcards, donor collateral, parish resources, booth materials, etc.
- Develop and implement marketing plans immediately during time-sensitive, high-priority situations.
- Ongoing strategy and optimization of lead generation and marketing funnel.
2. Social Media and Digital Advertising
- Approve and oversee all social media content and captions, ensuring alignment with the organization's brand, mission, and goals.
- Manage digital ad platforms (e.g., Facebook and Google Ads) and ensure campaigns run effectively.
- Analyze and report on audience demographics, engagement metrics, and campaign performance.
3. Website and Digital Management
- Oversee management of CatholicVote's websites (CV, VC), including creating custom pages, domain management, and embedding tools.
- Collaborate with website vendors for issue resolution and development of new features, including mini-websites for key campaigns.
- Monitor and maintain functionality for forms, surveys, and other digital tools like Typeform and Marketo.
- Manage website-related vendor relationships and field website issues, addressing or escalating as needed.
4. Merchandise
- Lead the creation of mission-specific merchandise with new lines throughout the year.
- Coordinate the shipping of materials for events, special projects, and development initiatives.
- Manage Shopify operations, including sales, fulfillment, and product issue resolution.
5. Team Leadership and Collaboration
- Supervise and support the work of direct reports, including graphic design, digital media, copywriting, and video production
- Approve invoices and create and manage project budgets within established limits.
- Coordinate regular meetings to provide updates, distribute tasks, and track progress on key initiatives.
6. Vendor and Partner Relations
- Manage relationships with vendors, contractors, and key partners (e.g., digital ad agencies, lead generation firms, etc.).
- Coordinate all partnerships, including event sponsorships, influencer marketing, etc.
7. Reporting and Analytics
- Compile and analyze weekly and monthly reports on marketing activities, digital media performance, and campaign results.
- Use analytics to identify trends and optimize future campaigns.
What You Will Need
- Passion for the mission of CatholicVote
- Understanding of Catholic culture, values, and current issues, with the ability to engage Catholic audiences
- 5+ years of marketing experience with a focus on campaign development, digital advertising, and brand management
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing vendor relationships
- Ability to be a natural leader and strategic thinker while balancing big-picture vision with hands-on execution
- Proficiency in digital advertising, email marketing, and CRM tools
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience crafting mission-aligned messaging
- Experience working in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment with high-impact initiatives
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field or equivalent experience
- Advanced certifications in digital marketing, advertising, or project management are a plus
