About Vocation Ministry:
Vocation Ministry is a Catholic nonprofit located in northwest Houston, Texas. Our mission is to ignite a vibrant culture of vocations by uniting with dioceses to strategically train, equip, and encourage vocation directors, priests, and laity. We seek to hire and retain employees skilled in their field, active in their Catholic faith, and enthusiastically dedicated to carrying out Vocation Ministry's mission. To be considered for this position, candidates should reside within the greater Houston, Texas area, as occasional in-person meetings or events may be required.

Position Overview:
The Public Relations Specialist will report directly to the Director of Marketing and is responsible for developing and executing strategies to enhance the organization's public image and engage target audiences through social media, email newsletters, and other digital channels. This role collaborates with the marketing team to create compelling content that reflects the organization's mission and values.

Key Responsibilities:
Social Media Management:
- Develop, schedule, and publish daily content across multiple social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, etc.).
- Monitor social media trends and analytics, adjusting strategies to optimize engagement and reach.
- Respond to comments and inquiries in a timely, professional manner.

Email Communications:
- Design, write, and distribute regular email newsletters and updates to subscribers.
- Manage email marketing campaigns, ensuring high deliverability and engagement rates.
- Analyze email performance metrics and generate reports to inform strategy improvements.

Content Creation & Management:
- Collaborate with team members to develop content that aligns with organizational priorities.
- Ensure all communications are consistent with brand guidelines and organizational tone.

Qualifications:
- Practices Catholic faith.
- Resides in the Archdiocese of Galveston- Houston.
- Holds a bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field.
- Has at least 2+ years of experience in social media management and email marketing.
- Possesses strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Demonstrates knowledge of digital analytics tools (e.g., social media insights).
- Is proficient in MS Office, Canva, Constant Contact, and a preferred choice of video editing software.
- Maintains excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Preferred:
- Is bilingual, demonstrating fluency and strong grammar capabilities in Spanish.
- Has experience working in a nonprofit or mission-driven environment.

Hours/Salary/Benefits:
- 20-25 hours per week
- Flexible hours

- Salary commensurate with experience.
