Job Description

Chesterton Academy of Vero Beach invites applications for a full-time teacher position at our new classical high school, grounded in the Catholic tradition. As we launch with only 9th and 10th grades, we are poised to add additional grade levels each year, fostering a unique opportunity for growth and development within our school community. Located in the picturesque town of Vero Beach, Florida, we are committed to providing an education that integrates classical learning in the Catholic tradition.

Responsibilities:
-Teach a few subjects (based on your preferences and needs of the school) with the possibilities to include: Literature, History, Philosophy, Theology, Math, Science, Speech/Debate, Latin, Spanish, Art, Music (Choir, Music Theory and Appreciation, Piano), and Drama (including full length plays).
-Participate actively in the daily academic and spiritual life of the school, including attending daily Mass with the headmaster, fellow teachers, and students. Additionally, be an active part of the Chesterton House system.
-Play a pivotal role in shaping the school culture as we add a new grade level each year.
-Consider engaging students in extracurricular activities
-Foster a community that reflects our Catholic values.

Requirements:
-Must be a practicing Catholic, willing to make a public Profession of Faith, and take the Oath of Fidelity to the Magisterium.
-Strong written and verbal communication skills.
-A passion for teaching and a willingness to be coached to teach in a classical manner.
-A strong dedication to building a culture of life through education.
-Have at least one of the following:
--Hold a bachelor's degree or higher OR
--Have a minimum of three years teaching experience in public or private schools, OR
--possess special skills, knowledge, or expertise that qualifies you to instruct in subjects taught.
