Director of Campus Ministry
St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Campus Center, serving the campus of Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, KY, has a job opportunity for a Full-Time Director of Campus Ministry. The Director of Campus Ministry is responsible for creating and implementing a campus ministry program for young adult college students, that upholds the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church and supports the pastoral vision of the Diocese of Owensboro.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Practicing Catholic in good standing
• Preferred: A degree in Theology, ministry, or an equivalent field; experience in providing pastoral ministry to college students
• Ability to build coalitions and maintain strong professional relationships
• Outstanding interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
• Ability to lead praise and worship a plus
DUTIES:
• Collaborate with the FOCUS team to meet the evangelical ministry needs at Western Kentucky University.
• Build and strengthen partnerships between campus ministry, students, and the University to foster productive ministry.
• Coordinate and manage sacramental liturgies and worship in conjunction with the chaplain to enhance the prayer and sacramental experience.
• Work with the chaplain to coordinate and implement the OCIA and to welcome students into full communion in the Catholic Church.
• Oversee daily operations of Campus Ministry, developing strategies to increase student attendance and participation.
• Develop and organize routine and special programs, such as retreats and mission trips, to promote the spiritual growth of the ministry.
• Plan and coordinate fundraising events; develop and implement marketing strategies to promote campus ministry.
• Manage and create a working schedule and budget plan for campus ministry.
• Serve as a role model for students through fellowship and participation in Sacraments.
• Foster an atmosphere of hospitality, coordinating communal events including Sunday brunch, Thursday night dinner, and weekly community event.
