Job Description
POSITION OVERVIEW:The Director of Campus Ministry oversees the Campus Ministry and FOCUS teams, ensuring they receive spiritual and professional support. This role establishes the tone and vision for Campus Ministry while leading the team in a united mission.
Key responsibilities include prioritizing team unity and collaboration, promoting healthy communication, and fostering strong relationships among team members. The Director facilitates meetings, manages team roles and tasks, and coordinates team-building activities and formation for the Campus Ministry team.
Additionally, the Director acts as a liaison with other departments at Saint John XXIII, ensuring clear communication and collaboration in alignment with RamCatholic's vision and mission. They also cultivate relationships with Colorado State University, other Christian ministries on campus, and Catholic Campus Ministries across Colorado and nationwide.
The primary function of the Director is to clarify and promote RamCatholic's vision and mission, translating this into a concrete year plan. The director ensures that the Campus Ministry team consistently keeps this mission at the forefront of their efforts. They work under the guidance of the Pastor, aligning with the vision entrusted to him by the Lord and working at the Campus Ministry level to bring that vision to fruition.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
-Active member of weekly Directors meetings, collaborating with the Pastor and other Directors, communicating what is happening within campus ministry- all updates, new developments, and growth
-Responsible for leading weekly campus ministry tactical/visioning meeting
-Delegating tasks as needed, preparing the meetings ahead of time, keeping pulse on tasks and the accomplishment of them
-Weekly one-on-ones with campus minister, FOCUS Team Director, and student leaders for on-campus relations
-Meetings with CSU, other Christian organizations, and Catholic campus ministries in the area
-Consistent meetings with Pastor to collaborate on vision and ensure he is supported in the vision and mission he specifically would like to see for campus ministry
-Meet weekly with the Executive Director of Operations to ensure the unified mission of the parish, staff and departments remains in alignment.
-Meetings as needed with other Directors
-Formation/Team Building- ensuring team dynamics of FOCUS and CM Teams are cohesive and creating time and space for shared life and prayer
-Ensuring tasks are delegated and vision is led for broader campus events such as Mass on the Grass and Fall/Spring Outreach, Senior Events/Graduation, and Holy Week
-Guiding the Campus Ministry team through freshman and senior events, all social events, and semesterly retreats, ensuring that all tasks are completed in a timely manner
-Point person for working with volunteers, setting expectations, and delegating tasks when necessary for the events within RamCatholic that volunteers help serve at: Dinner at Dad's, Parent's weekend, Homecoming tailgate
-Ensuring budget is maintained and well-communicated to Campus Ministry Team, to ensure they understand and maintain funding for their particular events and ministries
-Responsible for leading and executing a plan for RamCatholic for each upcoming school year. This includes leading planning during the summer and winter breaks to facilitate future growth of the ministry and evaluate previous year's fruitfulness.
QUALIFICATIONS:
-Must be a practicing Catholic in good standing, with a deep, personal commitment to the Catholic faith and mission of St John XXIII and Ram Catholic
-A bachelor's degree in Evangelization/Pastoral Theology or comparable experience required
-Minimum 3 years experience in parish ministry, preferably Campus Ministry
-Experience in management of a team (paid or volunteer) required
-Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills
-Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
-Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and timeliness
-Ability to follow both written and oral instructions effectively
-Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and collaborate with diverse teams
-Excellent phone communication skills
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, Teams, Zoom, and other relevant applications
-Capable of working independently and collaboratively in a team environment
-Must have care and concern for the salvation of souls especially those of the young people served by Campus Ministry
