Position Overview:
The Latin teacher will use leadership, supervisory, and instructional skills to help students grow in the knowledge of Latin, as well as in moral character and spiritual wisdom. All Chesterton Academy teachers are employed at-will and operate as professionals within the guidelines established by the Board of Directors, Mission, Vision, and Philosophy of Chesterton Academy of Wichita Falls.

Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement effective lessons embodying classical teaching principles
* Build appropriate relationships with the students that develops a passion for learning and a love for God and others
* Assist students in improving skills and study habits
* Effectively assess the academic, moral, and spiritual growth of the students
* Be sensitive to academic and behavioral concerns as they are developing and intervene immediately
* Provide extra tutoring for any student struggling with a subject or skill
* Demonstrate effective classroom management skills
* Compile and maintain all reports and documents required for student records
* Communicate frequently with students and their parents
* Create a welcoming, nurturing, and age-appropriate classroom environment
* Diligently enforce all school policies
* Effectively supervise students during non-academic periods such as lunch, chapel, or study halls

Requirements
* Practicing Roman Catholic and demonstrate a commitment to Catholic secondary education (Preferred)
* Bachelor's Degree (Required)
* 2+ years teaching experience in a classical school environment (Preferred)
* Exemplary verbal and written communication skills
* Resilient and adaptable and possess strong time management and organizational skills
* Committed to the mission of Chesterton Schools Network and the teachings of the Catholic Church.
* A love for his/her subject matter and students
* An understanding of and adherence to Chesterton Academy's mission, philosophy of education, and organizational culture
* Effective interpersonal skills including the ability to interface with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators with grace, sensitivity, and flexibility
* The ability to collaborate successfully with faculty, staff and the school board
* A commitment to a lifestyle of learning
