Job Description

The Associate Director of Youth Discipleship role will have their primary office located in DeForest.

Essential Job Duties:
* Assists the Director of Discipleship (DOD) in implementing the Youth Discipleship program and mission of the pastorate.
* Collaborates with the DOD for Family Formation in regards to curriculum and at home assignments for grades 6-9.
* Directs the Youth Sacramental Preparation program for Confirmation ensuring follow through of the sacrament.
* Ensure formation and sacramental preparation programs and events adhere to Diocesan policies and guidelines.
* Ensures that adequate documentation is received and recorded in regards to sacramental programs.
* Plans for and implements programs in support of teen discipleship (Love Begins Here, Totus Tuus, Frasatti Fest, Steubenville, retreats, social events, community service opportunities, recreational, etc.)
* Plans programs and activities for young adults (ages 18-35) that foster spiritual formation. This includes, but is not limited to retreats, religious education, social events, recreation, community service outreach and liturgical celebrations.
* Safe Environment Coordinator for VIRTUS and background screening for parish volunteers and staff.
* Form a Parish Youth Commission/Committee and serve as staff, assisting the chairperson in preparing the agenda, providing information and research for the Commission as requested.
* Maintains a level of knowledge and skills required for this ministry through regular updating, reading appropriate materials and participation at workshops and conventions. Participates in local, regional and national professional organizations as approved and as appropriate.
* Ability to step in for the DOD, as needed given logistics of our Pastorate.
* Assists in vocational discernment by referring individuals to priests or Vocational Director.

Preferred Education & Experience:
* Associate Degree or equivalent experience
Required Competencies:
* Demonstrated understanding, respect and support of the Catholic Church's teaching, mission and values.
* Demonstrated ability to set priorities and organize work effectively and efficiently, including developing and maintaining effective recordkeeping systems.

* Must be a person of faith, committed to the values of the Gospel, who provides sound leadership and responsible management of their duties.

* Must be able to work in a professional environment.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
Office environment
Ability to attend outdoor services in all weather conditions.

Normal Work Days & Hours (36-40 hours):
* Flexible. Some evenings and weekends may be required.
* Maintain at least 24 "office hours" each week during the school year (September - May), and at least 16 "office hours" during the summer (June - August).

Travel Requirements:
Yes, as needed to other sites within our Pastorate.
