Job Description

The Diocese of Grand Rapids is seeking an Assistant Director in the Office of Hispanic Ministry.

This Assistant Director position provides leadership and support for pastors, parish personnel and volunteers, and other institutions to promote marriage and family ministry within the Hispanic community (Residents and Migrants). This position will provide direction for marriage preparation, training and support of parish pastoral leaders, accompaniment of newly married couples, and implement directives flowing from the V Encuentro process.

Qualified candidates will possess a degree in areas related to Hispanic ministry, with emphasis on theological, religious, or pastoral studies. Applicants must be a practicing member of the Roman Catholic Church who support the philosophy, values, doctrine and mission of the Catholic Church and that of the Diocese of Grand Rapids. Must be knowledgeable regarding the structure, function, institutions and pastoral goals of the Catholic Church with excellent written and verbal skills needed to produce materials, resources, and provide instruction at the diocesan and parish level. Must be bilingual (Spanish-English) and have the ability to relate to and create bridges among a diversity of cultures.
