Job Description

Holy Angels Regional School, a PreK-8 Catholic School in in Woodbury, NJ, is seeking a strong Catholic principal to begin in the 2025-2026 school year. Holy Angels began the transition to become a classical school offering a traditional liberal arts curriculum during the 2024-2025 school year. The next principal will lead the transformation of the school to become the first Catholic Classical School in the Diocese of Camden. The next principal should have experience in change management and the knowledge, disposition, and experience with traditional liberal arts education in the Catholic tradition necessary to support parents, teachers, and students at this exciting time.

Qualifications

1) Practicing Catholic who possesses the knowledge and skills to share and live the truths of the Catholic Faith with students, parents, and staff

2) Master's Degree

3) Experience in classical education and/or traditional liberal arts education, preferably in Catholic Schools

4) Administrative experience (preferred)

5) NJ administrative certificate, or equivalent (preferred)

6) Evidence of competency in management, communication, collaborative skills

Selected Responsibilities

Catholic Identity

• Serve as the primary spiritual leader and religious educator of the school, active in living and promoting the Catholic faith

• Establish and uphold a discipline infrastructure grounded in Catholic values and discipleship of Jesus Christ that holds all students accountable for meeting high expectations

• Establish and sustain among faculty, staff, students, and parents a shared commitment to the Catholic identity of the school that integrates Church teaching and traditions with social justice and service to each other and the broader community

• Ensure that the wisdom of the Catholic church is present across the curriculum through a classical curriculum, that the diocesan curriculum for Religious Studies is used at all grades, and that the school is a partner with parents in the Catholic formation of their children

Programmatic Excellence

• Provide for the ongoing professional learning and support of all teachers in the transition to and implementation of a classical curriculum, including learning and applying the use of effective teaching strategies for all students in traditional liberal arts tradition

• Ensure that teachers regularly collaborate with each other and use data and input from multiple sources to provide excellent instruction that supports the integration of academic growth into the growth of the whole child

• Establish and maintain an effective system of assessment that includes formative, summative, performance, and standardized assessments

• Engage parents and parishioners in the development and implementation of a diverse range of extracurricular and co-curricular experiences that complement the core curriculum

Operational Vitality

• Work with the pastor and the relevant parish and diocesan staff to establish and adhere to a yearly school budget, implementing diocesan budget procedures and guidelines

• Establish appropriate goals for advancement, fundraising, and enrollment and supervise the relevant staff in pursuing effective strategies for realizing them

• Communicate regularly and effectively with all school stakeholders, including: pastor, parents, teachers, parishioners, parish staff, diocesan staff, funders, and others

• Ensure that the school adheres to all local and diocesan policies and relevant laws and that it maximizes the use of resources allocated to students by state and federal agencies
