You will work autonomously within the framework of the territory's vision for the Safe Environment Priest Wellness Program, allowing for confidential work as appropriate, while acknowledging that certain decisions must be determined by the authority of the territorial director, respecting applicable canonical processes. You will collaborate directly with territorial leadership and the Safe Environment Team in improving systems of care and providing support when necessary.

Key Responsibilities:
• Wellness Support: Ensure that Legionaries attend to physical health maintenance by being up to date with an annual exam, blood work, and regular dental care. Assist Legionaries in access to and referrals for proper guidance in executing advanced directives and important legal matters like power of attorney, wills, etc.
• Prevention and Education: Assist with the implementation of the Safe Environment (SE) prevention model. Develop and deliver priest wellness education, programming, and presentations to support overall well-being.
• Crisis Support and Intervention: Provide consultation to the territorial director, local superior, and director of Safe Environment on matters of crisis support and intervention. Offer initial consultation and early intervention support, and coordinate ongoing care for Legionaries in need, especially when accessing/referring to external resources and facilities of care.
• Support for Specific Groups: Provide periodic support to Legionaries living outside of the community and provide outreach as necessary. Support retired priests and those facing major/chronic illnesses with their wellness needs. Aid in transition plans for those being laicized and ensure a supportive environment for Legionaries in various stages of their journey.
• Assessment and Referrals: Conduct assessments, evaluations, and make referrals as needed. When appropriate, refer Legionaries for early interventions. Supervise and provide support for those on wellness and safety plans.
• Program Development and Research: Research and integrate best practices into wellness programs. Develop programs that empower Legionaries in their apostolates/ministries and promote a strong culture of self-care.

Qualifications:
• A Catholic in good standing, deeply committed to the mission of the Catholic Church.
• A master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, nursing, or a related field is required.
• Preference given to those with licensure.
• At least 3 years of experience in assessment, supervision, and program implementation.
• Proven experience in crisis intervention and program development, with strong organizational and record keeping skills.
• Gifted in cultivating and nourishing meaningful relationships.
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive matters with confidentiality and respect.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• A profound understanding of the whole crisis process from early detection, assessment, evaluation, implementation, supervision, follow-up and aftercare.
• Strong background and proven performance in implementing successful programs.
• Capability to anticipate needs, establish priorities, and project a positive attitude.
• Ability to maintain objectivity and professionalism.
• Proficiency in Spanish is a plus.

Work Environment:
• The Legionaries of Christ's North American Territory is headquartered in Atlanta, GA (may work remotely).
• Some travel will be required for in-person support and meetings.
• Direct and ongoing collaboration with the safe environment team, the territorial director, and the territorial council. As needed, you will also collaborate with local community superiors.
• Must adhere to final decisions per the territorial director and follow any applicable canonical processes.
• For professionalism, support and logistical purposes in your role, you will be accountable to the director of Safe Environment.
• The role offers flexibility for remote work, with some travel required for meetings with Legionaries/communities, and ongoing professional development.
