Pay grade: $16.00 per hour

JOB SUMMARY:
This employee will be a key member of the production team, which is tasked with picking up donated items for our Society of St. Vincent de Paul National Store in Fairview Heights, Illinois.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Fully understand how to operate and safely drive your assigned vehicle.
• Perform inspections of your vehicle prior to and following each trip.
• Maintain and service vehicle as needed (refuel, change oil, tire pressure, repairs, etc.).
• Obey all applicable traffic laws and drive in according to the weather/road conditions.
• Comply with ICC and DOT regulations. Always make safety a priority.
• Maintain a clean DMV record and valid Illinois driver's license. Driver must report any accidents or traffic citations to the production manager.
• Pick-up loads and organize goods in an orderly, logical manner.
• Follow route as scheduled unless supervisor tells you differently. Failure to follow this policy could result in disciplinary steps.
• Ensure contents are properly secured inside of the truck to prevent breakage or damage.
• Safely and efficiently handle and unload goods from the truck to selected destinations.
• Take pictures of ALL donated goods at the donor's location. (Contents of boxes excluded)
• Take picture of the location showing the address.
• Return to the store 30 minutes after your last pick up.
• Give a donation receipt to all donors.
• Assist warehouse staff and customers with loading and unloading processes as needed.
• Map delivery routes to ensure timely pickups using GPS on phone. Add pick up my donations to the existing route where appropriate.
• Give money collected to manager on duty when you return.
• ANY items turned down must be sent to production manager for approval.
• Confirm contents of the truck matches pictures on phone.
• Always ensure your vehicle is kept clean.
• Notify production manager of any major maintenance or delivery issues encountered.
• Adhere to company rules and regulations.
• Park truck in the appropriate place, make sure lights are off, and lock it up at night.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Play an integral role in fostering a culture of equity and inclusion within the organization.

Daily assignments will rotate based on staffing and operational needs. An individual in this position must be able to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities listed above.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS/QUALIFICATIONS:
The mental and physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. While performing the duties of this job:
• Employees must have the ability to maintain professional, patient, and courteous communications with a diverse base of customers, donors, clients and other SVdP staff
• Employee must have the ability to drive safely and maintain a clean driving record
• Employee must have the ability to use navigation tools such as onboard GPS, smartphone apps, and/or web-based or physical maps
• Must wear company issued logo t-shirts and jackets
• Employees must regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds without assistance, and occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds with assistance from equipment or another person
• Employee must be able to follow instructions and work autonomously on assigned job duties
• Employee must be able to work assigned shifts consistently and reliably

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
The SVdP Store working environment may contain dust, debris or allergens commonly associated with all manner of pre-owned clothing, furniture and household goods. Certain areas of the SVdP Store are only partially climate controlled.
