Job Description
Saint Lawrence Catholic Church is seeking a mission-driven Director of Religious Education - Coordinator of Evangelization & Catechesis to lead parish-wide faith formation and evangelization efforts. This role fosters a vibrant, missionary parish culture through small discipleship groups sacramental preparation, and adult faith formation. The position collaborates closely with the Pastor, Coordinator of Youth Ministry, volunteers, and parishioners to promote spiritual growth and Catholic identity across a diverse and multicultural community.Key Responsibilities:
- Lead evangelization efforts and form intentional disciples through small group ministry.
- Oversee catechetical programs including Sacramental Prep, OCIA, and Confirmation.
- Recruit, train, and mentor catechists and group leaders.
- Develop and support multicultural programming and adult faith formation.
- Ensure all efforts align with Church teaching and Archdiocesan policies.
Qualifications:
- Practicing Catholic with a strong personal relationship with Christ and commitment to Church teaching.
- Bachelor's degree in theology, pastoral ministry, or related field (preferred).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in parish ministry or catechesis.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish; willingness to learn Haitian Creole preferred.
- Completion of required Archdiocesan child protection and Code of Conduct certifications.
