Job Description

Notre Dame Catholic Parish and School is hiring a full-time Finance Manager. This accounting position will be part of a faithful, dynamic, enthusiastic team, and will play an integral role in the mission of Notre Dame Parish and School in the Southwest Denver area. This collaborative role exists to ensure accuracy in financial reporting, financial reconciliations, accounts payable, payroll, and human resources.

Primary duties will include:

Financial Reporting
• Manage the offertory counting procedures and monitor internal controls to ensure safeguarding of the collections.
• Prepares regular reports and analysis for Pastor, school and parish staff, and Finance Council.
• In collaboration with the Pastor, prepares annual budget for parish and school.
• Monitors operating budgets for parish and school, reporting weekly to Pastor.
• Responsible for parish operational and financial records.
• Oversees preparation for audits of parish and school.

Financial Reconciliations
• Assist in recording donations.
• Manages reconciliation for donations and tuition payments to Notre Dame Parish and School.

Accounts Payable
• Processes accounts payable in timely fashion.
• Manages contracts and serves as main point of contact with outside vendors when appropriate.

Payroll
• Responsible for parish and school payroll, as well as benefit administration and diocesan retirement plan contributions.

Human Resources
• Stays up-to-date with and is proficient in Archdiocesan accounting systems, human resource protocols, and school policies.
• Processes background checks and other onboarding duties related to hiring new staff.

Other
• Ensures that all federal, state, and local taxes are paid in accordance with regulations.
• Serves as staff liaison for Finance Council.
• Works with Facilities Manager to ensure a consistently safe, clean, hospitable environment at all times.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree and at least two years of accounting experience.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
• Works well in a team environment, as well as independently.
• Excellent oral and written skills.
• High proficiency in Excel.
• Ability to keep sensitive information confidential.
• Outgoing and personable demeanor.
• Be a fully initiated Catholic in the communion of the Catholic Church and intentionally living out the five precepts of the Church (CCC 2041-2043).
• Refrain from promotion or approval of, or the living out of, any conduct or lifestyle that would reflect discredit or disgrace on, or cause scandal in relationship to, the Archdiocese of Denver, or considered to be in contradiction with Catholic doctrine or morals.
