Overview
St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic School is actively seeking a candidate for the position of Principal beginning July 1, 2025.The principal works in collaboration with the Pastor and the Superintendent of Catholic Education for the Diocese of Venice in Florida. St. Elizabeth Seton is a Parochial Pre-K 3 through 8th Grade school in eastern Naples, Florida. Seton is currently at an all-time high in enrollment in the more than 40 year history of the school. As identified in our current strategic plan, Seton is working toward the integration of a Classical Catholic Liberal Arts curriculum. The mission of St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic School is to nurture the development of each student to achieve their spiritual, intellectual, physical and social potential. Catholic values and traditions are incorporated with academic excellence in an atmosphere of faith, discipline, and love.

Call for Passionate and Faith-filled Principal Candidates

Applications are currently being accepted for a faith-filled, dynamic, and passionate educator to serve as principal of St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic School beginning on July 1, 2025. The successful candidate must be a professed and practicing Catholic who upholds the teachings of the faith and who exemplifies an unwavering commitment to Catholic education that is firmly rooted in Gospel values.
Principal Profile and Expectations
The principal must be an innovative and visionary educational leader with demonstrated expertise in the classical model with pedagogy, curriculum, instruction, and assessment within a pre-kindergarten through grade twelve learning environment. The principal is expected to:
provide continuous catechetical formation to students, parents, and staff.
actively engage his or her school community in the evangelizing mission of the Church (which is the primary purpose of Catholic Education).
embrace the concept of putting faith into action by actively engaging students and staff in Christian service.
create a school culture that is steeped in a Catholic Worldview, centered in the person of Jesus Christ, and sustained by Gospel witness, in all areas, not merely in the religion classroom.
form a vibrant Catholic learning and faith community that is distinguished by excellence.
work to ensure that Catholic education is accessible to all students.
exemplify a commitment to educating the whole child.
continuously improve his or her school by implementing innovative leadership practices specific to the following domains:
Mission and Catholic Identity and Culture
Governance. Leadership, and Discipline
Academic Excellence
Operational Vitality
Academic Preparation, Work Experience, and Faith into Action
The successful candidate must possess an advanced degree in educational leadership and have to his or her credit at least five years of successful teaching and/or administrative experience, preferably in a Catholic school. Preferred candidates will have a strong knowledge of Classical Catholic Liberal Arts Education. Most importantly, the candidate is expected to adhere to all principles and tenets of the Catholic faith, to maintain a lifestyle that is in full accord with Church teachings, and to promote the best interests of the Roman Catholic Church at all times. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Requirements
Master's Degree or higher in Education or Education Administration is required
Licensure in the State of Florida
7-10 years of elementary school and/or administrative experience with a significant amount of experience specifically Catholic Education
A practicing Catholic and committed disciple of Jesus Christ whose faith is an integral part of their life and worldview
Collaborative leader with an accessible and approachable style that demonstrates a willingness to listen to new ideas while offering creative solutions to challenges
Excellent communications skills both oral and written, including public speaking
Knowledge and understanding of financial, accounting and marketing functions
Ability to articulate an educational vision that incorporates the best aspects of Catholic Education

About the Employer

The Diocese of Venice was established by St. John Paul II in 1984 from parts of the Archdiocese of Miami, Diocese of Orlando and the Diocese of St. Petersburg. Bishop John J. Nevins was the founding Bishop and served until his retirement in January 2007. Bishop Frank J. Dewane took over all duties as the second Bishop of the Diocese of Venice in Florida in January 2007.
