PRIMARY PURPOSE

The Financial Analyst I works with the other Financial Analysts and the CFO to ensure accurate and timely monthly financial reports which include tracking & analysis of product development projects, direct costs, fixed and intangible assets, along with the related balance sheet & expense accounts. The position supports the other Financial Analysts by providing information to support their analyses and recommendations to management. The Financial Analyst I is also instrumental in assisting with the annual budgeting process.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepares monthly recurring journal entries and reconciles general ledger accounts with clear and complete workpapers, providing analysis, researching and resolving outstanding items, according to Department's published month end close checklist.

Analyzes and explains the variance between budget and actual results by preparing supporting schedules and analysis, researching questions, identifying and communicating improvements to current processes.

Supports other Financial Analysts by providing data, analysis and comparisons of actual results to plan to support annual budgeting of product development and direct costs and monitoring of monthly activity including outside expenses and internal project time.

Assists with the administration of the company's financial reporting software (Spreadsheet Analyst/Timeline) by understanding structure and requirements. Builds new and edits existing reports as needed, assists with budget template creation and write-backs.

Supports requests for information related to the annual outside audit.

Provides inventory cost analysis and margin analysis to support pricing decisions as requested.

Acts as a support, partner and back-up to the other Financial Analysts as it relates to monitoring, reporting and analyzing Revenue, Subscriptions, COS and Royalties.

Special projects as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is required.

CPA certification preferred.

One to three years of accounting experience, financial analysis and G/L reconciling skills, proven experience using independent judgment and initiative, successful experience working in a professional environment, maintaining confidentiality and intermediate to advanced skill with Microsoft Excel.

Specialized skills should include strong accounting knowledge with keen attention to detail, specifically in regard to analysis, good time management skills including prioritizing work, meeting deadlines and working efficiently, self motivated with strong organizational and customer service skills, the willingness to take appropriate steps to solve problems and to present proposals to enhance current processes.

Clear written and verbal communication skills with keen attention to detail.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Estimated starting pay ranges between $65,100.00-$69,900.00, depending on qualifications and experience.
