Job Description
DescriptionSt. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, located in Crofton, Maryland, seeks candidates for a part-time Maintenance Worker. Under general direction of the Operations Manager, the part-time Facilities Maintenance Technician will oversee the maintenance of the building. This includes the primary fields of electrical, heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC), carpentry, plumbing, etc. This is a non-benefit eligible position working 15 hours per week, preferably Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The maintenance technician will work at the Church, Parish buildings and Rectory and will need to maintain flexibility in scheduling to be on-call for emergencies outside of normal work hours.
Essential Functions
• Performs basic and routine maintenance, construction, and repair tasks according to service, quality, and safety standards.
• Assist with miscellaneous facility projects, including painting, drywall, and carpentry, installation of fixtures and moving furniture or materials within the facilities.
• Maintaining organization in Facilities spaces.
• Consistently communicating work progress or any problems to the Operations Manager.
• Utilizing Personal Protective Equipment and practicing safe work habits.
• Snow removal and other seasonal tasks, as required.
Position Qualifications
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Must possess a valid State driver's license with no more than 3 current points.
• Prior experience in skilled and basic maintenance work for professional facilities, including building and equipment repair and maintenance, cleaning, and grounds keeping.
• Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in maintenance in the fields of carpentry, electrical work, cement work, painting and dry wall repair, plumbing, sanitation, HVAC systems, grounds maintenance, and janitorial care as required.
• Must be able to move furniture, equipment and other materials weighing up to 50lbs; to move about within very tight spaces where large and potentially dangerous equipment is stored; to operate various types of manual and power tools and automated systems; and to ascend/descend a ladder as needed.
This position will require work schedule flexibility and on-call availability in order to respond to emergency needs when they arise.
Base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience for this role, and/or internal equity of our current employees as part of any final offer. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, which is determined upon company and individual performance.
