Job Description

Job Title: Facilities and Maintenance Manager
Categories: Full-time
Location: Annunciation Heights Camp, Near Estes Park, Colorado
Reports to: Director of Operations
Salary Range: $40,000 - $82,000. Large range due to experience of candidate and unknown need of on-camp housing benefit.
Start Date: ASAP

The Facilities and Maintenance Manager is a full-time, year-round position with the overall responsibility for the successful maintenance upkeep of the entire facilities, buildings, and equipment at the Annunciation Heights and Camp St. Malo properties.

The Facilities and Maintenance Manager position reports to the Director of Operations. Primary responsibility is to ensure that the entire property and its contents are operable, maintained, safe, clean and suitable for all staff and guests on the property.

Education and Experience:
• Experience in all phases of camp operations, including supervisory responsibilities or similar and applicable experience preferred.
• Five plus years of experience with general maintenance, mechanics, budget accountability, and volunteer coordination.
• Higher level experience with one or more trades (plumbing, electrical, framing, etc.)

Essential Duties:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Upkeep and maintenance of all facilities, buildings and equipment related to Annunciation Heights and Camp St. Malo properties.
Responsible for the daily oversight of the camp's Waste Water Treatment Plant.
Observe safety rules and train staff in safe operating procedures on an ongoing basis to ensure compliance of operating procedures with federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA regulations and Safety and Environmental guidelines. Promote and maintain a safe and healthy work environment by complying with all the AODMC Risk Management protocols;
Perform a daily visual inspection of the facilities/grounds to identify areas that have been damaged and/or require maintenance;
Creation of a weekly, monthly and annual maintenance system in order to ensure comprehensive facility maintenance camp wide.
Oversight of camp projects and project management. Identifying project needs, planning, calendaring and scheduling, project managing assigned projects in collaboration with other key staff members.
Control maintenance expenditures by following proper accounting procedures; work with supervisor to ensure timely and effective maintenance of all camp equipment; identify problems early and develop effective solutions; efficiently, effectively, and consistently manage staff on given tasks.
Responsible to obtain and/or keep any and all necessary licenses, certificates for operation of diverse aspects of the camp's physical demands, and/or work with a third party to ensure all certifications and documentations are up-to-date and organized.
Available to assist other departments as necessary so long as it does not interfere with primary responsibilities.
Any other duties or special projects assigned by supervisor.

Competencies and Qualifications:

• Refrain from public promotion or approval of any conduct or lifestyle that would reflect discredit or disgrace on, or cause scandal in relationship to, the Archdiocese of Denver, or considered to be in contradiction with Christian doctrine or morals;
• Valid Driver's License, CDL preferred.
• Experience with managing and supervising staff is required.
• Knowledge of computers with Microsoft Office and some software would be an asset.
• Superior problem solving and diagnostic skills and ability and willingness to learn how to solve problems as they come up.
• Ability to multi task and set priorities and be highly organized
• Must be detail oriented.
• Must be professional and team player.

Physical Requirements:
• The job may be required to lift, carry, push or pull objects weighing more than 50 lbs. (without the assistance of mobile, powered equipment).
• Depending on the needs of the camp, may need to be available to work outside of a normal work week, including some weekends.
• When considering the physical environment the job works within (because of the nature of the job) the following factors may apply:
o The job requires working outdoors, sometimes in hot and cold temperatures and inclement weather conditions;
o Moderate odors, dust, odor, pollen or fumes may cause discomfort and/or irritation to eyes or respiratory passages;
o Loud noise from equipment/machines is at a level where ear protection is recommended.

To give assistance in any phase of the ongoing operation of the camp when need warrants and when assigned by the Executive Director
To joyfully give 100% effort to the job, understanding that it is all encompassing and requires more than 40 hours per week during the summer
