Job Description

Position Overview:
The Director of Youth Ministry wants to take chances and make mistakes to develop the best ministry for 21st century catechesis. The Director also understands the classroom model of faith formation is not effective for the 21st century and will seek to develop an evangelistic approach to catechesis that is interactive, hands on and uses current technology and methodology. The Director will oversee and coordinate all aspects of our youth ministry programs. This includes weekly programming, retreats, leadership development, and summer camps. The ideal candidate will prioritize building meaningful relationships with teenagers and their families, fostering a strong community of faith and support.

Key Responsibilities:

LIFE TEEN (High School Youth Ministry):
- Plan and lead weekly programming for high school students.
- Organize and facilitate an annual retreat.
- Conduct CORE team meetings to engage and support volunteer leaders.
- Support the 6 PM Mass, integrating youth involvement and participation.
- Develop a teen leadership program to empower young leaders within the parish.
- To develop ways to engage families in the process of formation with their teenagers.

EDGE (Middle School Youth Ministry):
- Plan and lead weekly programming for middle school students.
- Develop and organize an annual retreat tailored for middle schoolers.
- Conduct CORE team meetings to engage and support volunteer leaders.
- Plan and oversee a day summer camp experience for middle school students.
- To develop ways to engage families in the process of formation with their teenagers.

PURPOSE (Confirmation Program):
- Lead the 13+ year old Confirmation program, including managing 6 weekly small groups.
- Organize and facilitate a weekend Confirmation retreat.
- Coordinate Mass logistics for the Confirmation ceremony.
- Support the administrative assistant with paperwork and administrative tasks related to the program.
- To develop ways to engage families in the process of formation with their teenagers.

Summer Camp Program
- To Develop a summer camp program for elementary and middle school students to launch summer 2025
- Ensure the program meets the needs of the community, providing affordable and effective summer childcare.
- Build relationships within the larger community to increase engagement and participation.
- Generate profit for parish use while maintaining high standards of care and enrichment for participants.

Qualifications:
- Is an intentional disciple who possesses a deep faith which recognizes their own need for growth and a sense of self-worth that comes from being a child of God and a minister second.
- Bachelor's degree in Theology, Religious Studies, Education, or a related field (Master's preferred). Other life experience is acceptable in place of formal theological study.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in youth ministry or related roles.
- Understanding of the LIFE TEEN approach to ministry
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to engage and inspire youth and volunteers.
- Experience in planning and executing large-scale events and programs.

Compensation: This position has a salary range of $45,000-$65,000 based on experience.
