Job Description

Blessed Sacrament Parish - Madison has an opening for a part-time (20+ hours per week) Director of Religious Education. This important and collaborative pastoral ministry includes responsibility for Sacramental preparation (First Holy Communion, First Reconciliation, and Confirmation) as well as coordinating a Youth Ministry program. Responsibilities include directing and supervising parish religious education programs including curriculum development and the selection of texts and materials. Responsible for recruiting, selecting, and training Catechists and other volunteer staff working with the RE program and Sacramental prep. Additionally, this position oversees the mailing of college care packages, military care packages, and Veteran's Day acknowledgements.

Applicant must be a practicing Catholic in good standing, have experience in parish ministry and hold a bachelor's degree in theology or religious education with strong knowledge of Church teachings. Applicant must be open to be trained in Catechesis of the Good Shepherd or already have training. This is a part-time position with some flexible hours and may require working some weekends.
