Administrative Assistant, Temp

Ministry: Mother of Mercy Free Medical Clinic
Primary Office: Manassas
Hours per Week: 40 (Monday - Thursday from 7AM-5PM)

Starting Hourly Rate: $19.75
Telework Available: No

This is a temporary position through late March/Early April

Position Description:
Responsible for administrative duties at the clinic to ensure operational effectiveness and efficiency.

Position Responsibilities:
• Respect client and employee rights and privacy ensures security of protected information, practices, in an ethical manner and is compliant to the agency's compliance program and privacy policy.
• Manage reception/front desk area including: phone calls, mail, greeting clients, patients and visitors
• Conduct eligibility screens for clients desiring free health services
• Make follow up calls to patients and clients as needed
• Make deposit and process payments
• Obtain and maintain office supplies
• Provide administrative support to Program Director, Site Supervisor and Clinical Staff as needed
• Maintain a volunteer schedule and train volunteers in their duties
• Attend meetings, fairs, and other events as needed representing the clinic, which may take place some nights and/or weekends.

Qualifications & Skills:
• As the first point of contact for visitors and callers, must maintain a polite and professional demeanor, treating every client with respect and a smile.
• Must be able to handle multiple competing demands and meet deadlines.
• Must be able to adapt to changes in the work environment and help initiate organized responses.
• Display willingness to problem-solve and make decisions using sound and accurate judgment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills needed.
• Proven ability to maintain strict confidentiality in communication with others.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office required.

Education and Experience:
• High School Diploma/GED required; further education and/or medical training a plus
• Must be fully bilingual (English/Spanish)
• Minimum 6+ months of directly related experience
• Experience in a customer service environment strongly preferred
• Understands the workings of the Catholic faith

Physical Demands:
• Must be able to communicate verbally with patients in person and on the phone
• Occasionally lift and carry up to 25lbs
• Have the hand eye coordination and manual dexterity needed to operate a computer/keyboard, photocopier, telephone, and calculator
• Stand for extended periods of time, push, pull and reach; occasionally bend, sit, stoop and stretch
