Position Overview:
The Development Coordinator will support the organization's fundraising and donor engagement efforts by managing donor data, facilitating personalized donor communications, and assisting with donor acknowledgment processes. This position will play a critical role in donor relations, data management, and support the Advancement Department's strategic initiatives. The Development Coordinator will also assist in the development of materials for donor engagement, support the growth of the monthly giving program, and provide backup assistance for database management during peak giving seasons.
Key Responsibilities
• Donor Data Management & Support: Learn and work with the organization's database, providing data entry and management during busy giving seasons and serving as a backup when the primary database administrator is unavailable.
• Donor Acknowledgments: Manage the acknowledgment process for all donors, ensuring timely printing and sending of thank-you notes and other communications.
• Donor Journey Coordination: Collaborate with the Advancement Department to coordinate donor journeys, ensuring personalized and timely donor communications.
• Donor Collateral Development: Work closely with Advancement Department members to develop and update donor-facing materials that help engage and steward donors.
• Monthly Donor Program: Support strategies aimed at growing the monthly donor program, working with the department to identify opportunities for donor retention and acquisition.
• Accounting & Finance Support: Assist with donor-related accounting and reconciliation tasks, working closely with the finance department to ensure accurate records.
• Event & Fundraising Support: Provide administrative support for events, meetings, and other fundraising activities as needed.
• Donor Inquiries: Monitor and respond to donor inquiries and requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Fundraising Materials: Assist in the creation and distribution of fundraising materials and communications.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience Requirements
• Database & Technology Proficiency: Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, Blackbaud, DonorPerfect, Virtuous) and a willingness to learn new data management tools.
• Detail-Oriented & Organizational Skills: Ability to manage and maintain accurate donor data, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
• Donor Relations & Stewardship: Knowledge of fundraising best practices and donor stewardship strategies, with an ability to contribute to donor journey planning and execution.
• Communications: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on personalizing donor interactions and creating impactful donor collateral.
• Financial Reconciliation Support: Experience or willingness to learn the basics of donor accounting and reconciliation with finance department.
• Team Collaboration & Independence: Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, effectively managing tasks and coordinating with the Advancement Department.
• Proficiency in Office Tools: Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Mission-Driven: A passion for and demonstrated commitment to the mission, vision, and values, and plans of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.
• Analytical & Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills for data reporting and donor trend analysis.
• Travel: Willingness and ability to travel to the Society's annual National Assembly.
