Pastoral Associate of Discipleship

Job Description

Are you passionate about bringing people to Jesus Christ and the Catholic Church? We're seeking a Holy Spirit driven, dynamic individual to join our team as our Pastoral Associate of Discipleship. This full-time position is focused on growing faith and passion for Christ within our adult parishioner community and in reaching those who have left the Church or who were raised with no faith at all. Our Pastoral Associate will be focused on enhancing existing programs and developing new initiatives to bring a "head to heart" connection with Jesus, in addition to cultivating relationships and implementing evangelization programs to grow the number of adults in our programs.

Other responsibilities include:
Managing and coordinating our OCIA and Discovering Catholicism programs
Spearheading young adult evangelization and service opportunities
Developing and overseeing Connect groups
Working with school staff in developing teacher retreats and ongoing spiritual development
Overseeing faith building programs, events and retreats
Recruiting, developing and supporting passionate and qualified persons to lead ministries and build volunteer teams
Working with Relational Ministry team to infuse spirituality and prayer into service, outreach and parish life areas
Assisting Relational Ministry team with evangelization, formation, youth ministry and service/outreach programs and events
Promoting Relational ministry events, programs and ministries through a variety of methods including all forms of media

Our ideal candidate will have a dynamic, outgoing personality coupled with a strong passion for Jesus Christ and for sharing our Catholic faith. Responsibilities for this position include a heavy emphasis on planning, evangelization, marketing and reaching our adult parishioners amid all the other distractions in their lives.

Requirements include a bachelor's degree in Theology, Religious Education, Communications or related fields in addition to a strong personal faith and commitment to the teachings and mission of the Catholic Church. Experience in facilitating / leading small groups and one on one mentoring is preferred. Administrative, organizational, communication, public speaking and computer skills are all essential to success in this position, as is creativity and innovation.
