Job Description
Summary: Responsible for the effective preparation, coordination, performance, and leadership of music and liturgy within the liturgical celebrations of the pastorate of St. Mary Cathedral and St. Ann.Essential Duties:
1. Work together with the other music group leaders in selecting music for all Saturday evening and Sunday Masses and for other services as specified.
2. Personally direct and perform the music as needed at Masses and see that all weekend Masses have proper support.
3. Recruit and select (or approve) all music group leaders.
4. Schedule and supervise all choirs, music groups, and other music ministers and provide them with support and with general musical and liturgical formation.
5. Provide specific training and preparation of individual cantors, organists, and other individual musicians (rehearsals to be specified).
6. Direct one or two choirs or music groups.
7. Review and purchase new music as needed, maintain copyright licenses as needed to make copies of music, select/prepare worship aids and songbooks, arrange/prepare simple musical scores as needed.
8. Prepare and administer liturgy and music budget.
9. Participate actively in community/parish events and in local and national professional associations.
10. Provide opportunities for spiritual and social enrichment for all music ministers.
11. Oversee sacramental records and record keeping.
12. Oversite of liturgy committee and liturgical ministers.

Education/Experience:
• At least three year's experience as a pastoral musician.
• Bachelor Degree in Music (Level 1), Master's Degree in Music (Level II) or the equivalent including thorough knowledge and training in music theory and history.
• Strong knowledge and training in Roman Catholic Liturgy and its teachings.
• Proficiency in voice, keyboard, guitar, or choral performance and some knowledge of all these instruments.
• Possess Respect & ability to uphold Catholic Teachings.
• Able to honor & maintain confidentiality.
• Able to pass and maintain Diocesan child safety protocols.
