Job Description

St. John Neumann Catholic Parish, in Miami, Florida, is seeking a faith-filled Coordinator of Religious Education (CRE) to lead our parish's catechetical programs for children and families. The CRE is responsible for administering faith formation programs from early childhood through family catechesis, including sacramental preparation and support for children with special needs. Rooted in our mission to overcrowd heaven, the CRE helps foster a culture of prayer, teamwork, and discipleship, working under the vision of the Pastor and Director of Formation and Mission. The candidate performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the Archdiocese of Miami.

Responsibilities include:
• Overseeing PK3- 5th Grade catechesis and First Communion prep.
• Supporting programs for preschool, special needs, family, and home catechesis.
• Recruiting and forming catechists.
• Coordinating calendars, communication, and sacramental records.
• Ensuring alignment with Archdiocesan guidelines and Safe Environment policies.

Qualifications:
• High School Diploma, Lay Ministry Certification, and 3+ years in parish volunteer catechesis required.
• Preferred: Bachelor in Theology or related field, 3+ years of parish work experience.
• Excellent customer service skills, including ability to maintain focus on and professionalism with people in challenging situations, both in person and by phone.
• Good time management, including ability to manage several projects at the same time with accuracy.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) and Google Workspace proficiency preferred.
• Able to lift and carry, on occasion, bundles of catechetical and program materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to walk and stand for prolonged hours as required by the parish catechetical sessions.
• Must be a practicing Catholic with strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Must have a professional demeanor.
