ACC Business Administrator
Job/Position Description

ACC MISSION: To be witnesses of a living faith in Jesus Christ
CLASSIFICATION: Exempt
POSITION TYPE: Full-time
EFFECTIVE DATE: TBD
REPORTS TO: Pastor

Primary Objective: Responsible for management of all financial activities, administrative functions, human resources, facilities, and all related systems of the eight parishes of the Mary, Mother of the Church Area Catholic Community (ACC). Provides leadership for all ACC staff and assistance to the pastor in key decision making within a framework of shared ministry and Catholic values consistent with the mission and purpose of the Catholic Church.
Job Duties:

1) Oversee the finances of the parishes and is considered the Chief Financial Officer for the eight parishes, both civil and ecclesial, to include:

a. Accounts payable, receivable, and payroll; annual diocesan report and audit every five years; budgets, building funds insurance; cemetery financial care; contribution statements and reconciliation; quarterly and end of year reports; fundraising events; grants; loans; Mass intentions; online giving; policy and procedures for requests of funds/reimbursements; purchase requests; reconciliation of funds, including bank statements; restricted funds; sacramental stole fees; special accounts (Ladies Aid, Christian Mothers, Mission Circles); tax exemption; clergy reimbursements; employee benefit; med9ical insurance forms; pension reports; and workman's comp;
b. Ensure that all finance accounts are accurately reported and that yearly reporting is completed accurately and on time to all regulatory authorities;
c. Provide management in all areas of finances and leads the budgeting reporting, and long-range planning.
d. Work with the parish finance councils for approval and guidance.
e. Advocate for the parishes as financial liaison within the diocese and school administration.
f. Oversee stewardship efforts and models in the parishes.
g. Work closely with stewardship committees in an effort to support and sustain ongoing stewardship education in the parishes.
2) Oversee Human Resources to include:
a. Oversee the maintenance of Human Resources records; develop Human Resources policies and ensure compliance with f3ederal, stat, and ecclesial laws.
b. Primary resource in other Human Resources matters, i.e., benefits administration, wage and salary administration, etc.
c. Determine staffing needs, recruit, evaluate, recognize staff, and take corrective actions when needed.
d. Provide day-to-day direction and problem solving as issues or conflicts arise.
e. Communicate expectations with staff and apply accountability.
f. Create and maintain a work environment t for employees that is conducive to high productivity and morale.
g. Develop and administer parish/ACC policies and procedures.
h. Responsible for overall risk management.
3) Staff Responsibilities
a. Provide leadership and participate in weekly pastoral staff meetings, annual staff retreats, and diocesan and deanery related events pertinent to the mission.
b. Ensure all elected ACC and parish councils and committees are organized in union with the mission of the ACC
c. Coordinate with ACC Discipleship Director the implementation and maintenance of Safe Environment procedures for the ACC and parishes.
d. Provide leadership and management of all parish programs and liaison to parish and ACC committees.
e. Work with staff to evaluate parish programs and research trends in parish ministries.
f. Provide oversight leadership and direction to the Discipleship programs.
g. Work with the various outreach committees and organizations to manage requests for financial assistance (e.g., Good Samaritan, Ministerial Association, Emergency Relief Fund, etc.).
h. Maintain quality and productivity at the highest levels.
i. Nurture his or her own faith in order to nurture the faith of others, as well as to live in a manner congruent to the moral teachings of the Catholic Church.
j. Perform other related duties as assigned.
4) Facilities manager
a. Ensure facilities are maintained to comply with safety security, and environmental regulations and best practices.
b. Responsible for building projects, maintenance, building usage security and inventory.
c. Approve purchase of supplies, materials and capital equipment.
d. Negotiate and review maintenance agreements, contracts and bids, and monitor to assure compliance with specifications.
e. Function as systems manager for all parish computer operations; provide support for computer hardware and software application.
f. Oversee the management of all parish cemetery and property records;
g. Work with cemetery sextons to manage cemetery operations, maintenance and capital improvements.
h. Follow safety and good housekeeping practices.

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree required, or equivalent combination of training, education & experience.
• Expertise in financial management and budgeting.
• Understanding and appreciation of the Catholic Faith.
• Demonstrated success of human resource management.
• Demonstrated servant leadership qualities.
