Salesian USA West Province | Remote in California
Reports to: Provincial
Start Date: June 1, 2025, or upon hire
Salary: $150-160K
Remote with travel in California

About the Role
We are seeking a Director of Development to lead and scale a comprehensive fundraising strategy, aiming to grow annual contributions to $8M within five years annually. This role requires a seasoned fundraising leader with experience securing major gifts, institutional grants while building a sustainable development framework. As a key member of the leadership team, you will work closely with the Provincial and key stakeholders to expand donor engagement, oversee fundraising communications, and drive long-term philanthropic growth.

What You'll Be Doing
• Develop & execute fundraising programs, including major gifts, annual giving, planned giving, and institutional giving.
• Cultivate & steward relationships with high-level donors, foundations to drive significant contributions.
• Lead & expand the development team, fostering a high-performance culture aligned with our mission.
• Oversee strategic fundraising communications, ensuring consistency • Analyze fundraising data, adjust strategies, and identify opportunities for growth and long-term sustainability.

Our Ideal Candidate
• 10+ years of nonprofit fundraising experience, with 5+ years building a development team and specializing in major gifts and institutional giving.
• A track record of raising $2M+ annually plus leading teams securing $6M+ annually (total of $8M annually.)
• Experience in mission-driven organizations, particularly those serving youth and communities.
• Strong leadership & relationship-building skills with a passion for mission-driven work.
• Ability to develop and execute high-level fundraising strategies that align with organizational goals.

• Experience working in a remote environment with regional donor outreach and strategic fundraising expansion.
