SERVICE-LEARNING COORDINATOR

Elizabeth Seton High School (ESHS) is a Catholic, secondary, college preparatory school for young women founded in 1959 by the Daughters of Charity. Located in Prince George's County, a suburb of Washington, DC, the school attracts students from surrounding counties and the District of Columbia. Job Summary

ESHS seeks a full-time Service-Learning Coordinator to design and facilitate service opportunities and reflection on the experience.

Duties / Responsibilities:

Prepare, organize, and facilitate retreats for all grade levels including Seton Encounter overnight three times a year
Organize and facilitate prayer experiences for the community
Organize monthly liturgy for the school community
Serve as the Service-Learning Coordinator to facilitate daily after-school service opportunities
Attend service trips
Co-Moderate Vincentian Service Club
Attend Campus Ministry programs and events
Promote the mission of Campus Ministry to the school and local community
Create an inclusive and welcoming environment for all students

Required Skills/Abilities:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent organizational skills
In-depth knowledge of the Catholic faith and theology and an appreciation and respect for the diversity of religions and traditions
Knowledge of Catholic social teaching and justice issues
Skilled in retreat planning and community building
Ability to maintain confidentiality and sensitivity with pastoral accompaniment
Familiarity with planning prayer services, para-liturgical services, ecumenical services
Ability to communicate effectively, build relationships and interact with students
Ability to work with diverse populations and create a welcoming and inclusive environment
Ability to collaborate with student leaders
Ability to creatively plan and implement programs
Ability to work nights, weekends, some holidays, and special events

Education and Experience:

A bachelor's degree in theology, religious education, or a related field is required.
Experience in theology and religious studies, pastoral counseling, or catechesis is strongly preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to navigate school facilities and lead students to safety in an emergency
Must be able to lift to 25 pounds at times
