Job Description

Position Summary:
The Men's Service Corps Resident Assistant (SCRA) is responsible for implementing day to day operations of the AFC's summer volunteer male high school missionary program as directed by the Ministries Manager. The employee will follow established protocols in running assigned programs and will affect the intention and directions of the AFC's leadership team as they relate to youth volunteer involvement and youth formation.

Reports To: Ministries Manager or Youth Ministry Team Designee
Direct Reports: Volunteer Male High School Missionaries (Service Corps)
Exempt Status: Exempt
Position Status: Full Time, Temporary (Start 5/5/2025 - 5/9/2025, End 8/10/2025 - 8/15/2025)
Compensation Package: $650.00/week plus free on-site housing and meals.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Oversees the health and wellbeing of summer male High School age volunteer missionaries.
Exercises discretion and independent judgment in implementation of youth volunteer program policy.

Major Duties and Functions:

Youth Program Duties:
Employee will work with other Youth Ministry Team Members and Human Resources staff to manage and supervise summer male Youth Volunteers, including supervisory duties, especially in the morning, at night, and on weekends.
Employee will work to ensure male Youth Volunteers eat meals, maintain good personal and oral hygiene, and maintain cleanliness of lodging daily.
Employee will work to proactively identify and work to resolve male Youth Volunteer concerns and problems in a timely manner.
Employee will assist in maintaining order and discipline by enforcing the applicable codes of conduct.
Employee will be assigned other tasks and duties as needed during the day to implement AFC events, like shuttle vans, lifeguarding, children's ministry, Service Team tasks, etc (which is based on skills, experience, and availability).

Current valid Driver's License.
Safe Environment training and Background Check is required.

Education and Experience:
Minimum of a High School Diploma and 3 years of higher education completed or a 4-year college degree.
Previous youth ministry, counseling, or teaching experience may be substituted for formal education beyond a High School Diploma and for management experience at a 1:1 ratio.
Physical Requirements:

The employee should expect to be required to stand and walk for 30 minutes or more.
The employee may occasionally be required to stand, reach, bend and lift up to 30 lbs.
Specific vision and hearing abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision and ability to hear conversations in office and group settings.
Attendance at meetings or events and periodic local travel may be required.
