Purpose:
Our two youth ministers work as a team to continue to grow and develop our youth by leading them closer to Christ. These ministers creatively and energetically help form intentional Disciples of Christ within our parish. They work with high school and middle school youth. Through relational ministry, the youth ministers serve and advocate for the youth within our parish: helping middle-school youth learn to share their faith, welcoming 9th graders into our high school program, preparing 10th graders for the Sacrament of Confirmation, forming a core team of teens to work with middle and high school youth, ministering to the upper classmen, and ministering to our teens in the Hispanic Community. The youth ministry staff also actively recruit and train adults to assist in this ministry. The youth ministry position also works collaboratively with the catechetical staff to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated effort for catechesis across all ages. The position is full-time, salaried with benefits.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Develop and implement formation opportunities for youth post-Confirmation.
• Plan and coordinate activities to support growth in Word, Worship, Service and Community to include retreats, conferences, service trips and social activities.
• Coordinate with our Hispanic Ministry Coordinator to help integrate the Hispanic teens into the youth program and be sensitive to the needs of our Hispanic teens and minister to them and their families.
• Recruit and train Adult CORE team members.
• Empower the Adult CORE to take ownership of various elements in a vibrant youth ministry setting.
• Assist, equip, and support parents in their role as the first catechists of their children.
