Job Description
Holy Name High School seeks a Headmaster to join their team in Escanaba, MI. As Headmaster, you will serve as the educational and organizational leader. You will be responsible for implementing the network curriculum, managing the teaching staff, and the policies of Holy Name High School, A Chesterton Academy.This is a 50% administration and 50% teaching position.

WHAT YOU WILL DO.
Ensure adherence to and updates of the curriculum, collect course materials, and manage the accurate and timely ordering of curricular resources.
Supervise standardized testing, analyze score trends to enhance instruction, and oversee school accreditation and renewal.
Establish key dates for internal and public calendars, update handbooks and manuals, create course sections in the SIS system, and facilitate regular faculty meetings.
Collaborate with the principal on hiring, evaluations, and terminations; conduct classroom observations; and ensure faculty adherence to curriculum, pedagogy, and instructional practices.
Work with the principal to develop faculty and student schedules, oversee room assignments and facility planning, and manage schedule adjustments for special events.
Guide the Student Life Committee, oversee extracurricular activities, ensure alignment with the school's mission, and support student mentor programs.
Enforce and communicate discipline policies, set clear behavioral expectations, implement protocols, and proactively address concerns to foster a virtuous school culture.
Meet with house prefects, oversee the Chesterton Academy House System, support student growth in virtue and academics, and mediate conflicts within the school community.
Ensure policies and procedures are upheld, participate in major school events, and approve pre-planned faculty absences.
Serve as the primary CSN contact, attend meetings and conferences, and oversee compliance with accreditation requirements.
Admit new students upon review of placement exam, student application materials, and interview.
Deliver presentations to prospective parents and students at selected school events.
Coordinate standardized testing, college applications and transcript preparation.
Communicate with colleges, universities and other post-high school programs.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR.
Master's degree in education, educational leadership, or a related field required.
Experience teaching in a classical school environment is preferred.
A minimum of three years of classroom teaching and/or school administrative experience is required.
Familiarity with the mission of Chesterton Academy and the teachings of the Catholic Church.
Working knowledge of institutional advancement and fundraising.
The candidate must complete a fingerprint scan, a federally mandated background check, VIRTUS training, and the affiliated background check through the Diocese of Marquette.
Excellent managerial and communication skills are essential.
