Job Description

Chesterton Academy of Vero Beach invites applications for a full-time Math/Science teacher. As a new school launching with 9th and 10th grades, poised to add an additional grade level each year, this position offers a unique opportunity for growth and development within our school community. Located in the beautiful town of Vero Beach, Florida, CAVB is committed to providing an education that integrates classical learning steeped in the truth, beauty, and goodness of the Catholic tradition.

Responsibilities:
-Primarily teach Math (Geometry, Algebra 1 and 2) and/or Science (Physics, Biology) with the possibility of teaching other classes
-Participate actively in the daily academic and spiritual life of the school, including attending daily Mass with the headmaster, fellow teachers, and students
-Be an active part of the Chesterton House system, which is designed to help the students grow in virtue and holiness
-Play a pivotal role in shaping the school culture as we establish a strong Catholic culture and add a new grade level each year
-Consider engaging students in extracurricular activities and/or athletics
-Foster an environment that encourages the growth of a joyful, vibrant Catholic culture

Requirements:
-Must be a practicing Catholic, willing to make a public Profession of Faith, and take the Oath of Fidelity to the Magisterium
-Strong written and verbal communication skills
-A passion for teaching
-Either experience teaching within the classical model or an appreciation for the Socratic Method and a willingness to be trained
-A strong dedication to building a culture of life through education
-Have at least ONE of the following:
--Hold a bachelor's degree or higher
--Have a minimum of three years teaching experience in public or private schools
--Possess special skills, knowledge, or expertise that qualifies you to instruct in subjects taught
