Job Description

THE POSITION: The Women's Youth Ministry Coordinator exists to coordinate relational youth ministry programs at the parish and in support of the Director of Youth Ministry, primarily working with young women. The position involves direct ministry to youth on two to three evenings each week (Wednesdays and Sundays) and various weekend activities. There are about 4-5 weekends a year that require overnight trips for retreats. The remainder of the time will consist of regularly scheduled office hours and time spent meeting students off-site. The youth ministers are encouraged to meet and mentor students outside of Youth nights with a great emphasis on relational ministry. Our goal is that each student would embrace that they are known and loved by Christ.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Essential duties and responsibilities of the Women's Youth Ministry Coordinator include:
~ Working alongside the Director in teaching and leading faith formation, retreats, social activities, and service activities to youth in the 6th through 12th grades.
~ Training, mentoring, and empowering adult core-team members and other volunteers while providing appropriate oversight.
~ Work specifically with the female students and core team members to develop a ministry dedicated to serving the young men and future leaders of our parish.
~ Developing age-appropriate curricula and incorporating third-party programs where appropriate.
~ Investing time in the youth outside typical office hours including on weekends and during evenings, for example, by attending different sporting and performance events.
~ Providing sacramental preparation for youth who are not yet fully initiated in the faith (OCIA).
~ Plans, prepares, and runs weekly youth group meetings, including preparing talks/lessons that will be assigned to them about twice monthly (Wednesday and Sunday evenings).
~ Plans and runs a twice monthly Women's Discipleship Group with high school students.
~ Actively engages with students outside the normal youth group meetings in relational ministry by attending games and performances etc. and taking them out to lunch/coffee to foster relationships with students. One on one relational ministry is primarily reserved for High School students, with 8 hours minimum devotion per month (measured by monthly calendar scheduling).
~ Plans, prepares, and runs monthly Core Team meetings that aim to form our adult volunteers both spiritually and communally.
~ Participates in fundraising activities.
~ Actively engages in a prayerful and sacramental life, dedicating a substantial portion of time praying for the ministry and the students involved.
~ Plans, prepares, and runs retreats necessary for the program including Steubenville of the Rockies, Annual High School Retreat, Totus Tuus Summer Mission, Mountain Madness, and Annual Middle School Retreat (hours will vary and overtime is required during these events).
~ Remote working allowed, not to exceed 8 hours per week, with prior approval by Director of Youth Ministry.
~ Encourages and supports the part-time youth minister, assigns responsibilities when necessary, and steps into leadership role when Director is unavailable.
~ Completes administrative tasks required of the job and other duties as assigned by the Director of Youth Ministry.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
~ High School Diploma or equivalent.
~ Focus on theology, catechetics, education or related field preferred.
~ Must possess a valid CO driver's license.
~ Weekends and evenings required, specifically Wednesday and Sunday evenings.
~ A flexible schedule required.
~ Overnight travel required:
o Domestic travel for various retreats.
o International travel may be required for World Youth Day.

COMPETENCIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:
~ Must be in the communion of the Catholic Church and intentionally living out the five precepts of the Church (CCC 2041-2043).
~ Must refrain from promotion of, or the living out of, any conduct or lifestyle that would reflect discredit or disgrace on, or cause scandal in relationship to, the Archdiocese of Denver, or considered to be in contradiction with Catholic doctrine or morals.
~ Must be a faithfully practicing Catholic, with a robust prayer life and virtue, deep knowledge of the faith, and a passion for passing on a lived discipleship to the youth.
~ Prior practical experience in youth ministry as a student, volunteer, or leader.
~ Effective communication skills - written, oral, and social media.
~ Able to maintain strong and productive relationships with clergy, staff, volunteers, and parents.
~ Formal education in theology and youth ministry, or equivalent, preferred.
~ Able to plan and lead large events (e.g., parish-level socials, retreats, pilgrimages, mission trips, and World Youth Day).
