Job Description
Mission: To inspire, educate and to equip young people so that they may grow in the Catholic faith and help them to know, love and serve Christ.Good Shepherd Parish is looking for a full-time Assistant Director for Youth and College Ministry. This person will be a liaison between Good Shepherd Parish, the parish school (St. James School) and and the local college campus (University of New England).
The Assistant Director for Youth and College Ministry must be outgoing and engaging and will be responsible for outreach to youth and parishioners, and developing, articulating and facilitating dynamic youth ministry programs for middle school, high school and college age students. The Assistant Director for YCM will coordinate and lead activities on and off campuses like, but not limited to, hikes, retreats and regularly scheduled gatherings which offer inspiration and guidance to young people, helping them foster a deeper relationship with Christ, helping them commit to living lives of Christian discipleship, and being active and involved in parish life. The Assistant Director for YCM will report to the Director of Faith Formation. The position will be full-time, averaging 40 hours a week between office hours and activities and events on evenings and weekends as scheduled. The Assistant Director for YCM may also assist the Director of Faith Formation to facilitate and prepare for faith formation and sacramental preparation retreats for families.
