Job Description
St. Joseph Hessen Cassel, Fort WaynePosition: Liturgical Music Director
The Liturgical Music Director will have the opportunity to not only help ensure the inspired delivery of liturgical music at the parish, but also - as a key member of the parish staff - assist in the growth and formation of the parish. This extends beyond the weekend liturgies to all parish formation.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
• A very strong desire to build up the music culture within the parish.
• Working knowledge and experience in Catholic liturgy.
• Practicing Catholic in good standing.
• Competency in organ and piano.
Role and Responsibilities:
1. As a member of the parish staff, contribute to building and implementing the parish goals and mission with particular attention to providing suggestions regarding integrating liturgical music.
2. In collaboration with the pastor, choose and publish music for all liturgies and other designated events, i.e praise and worship night, adoration etc. to all stakeholders
3. On an ongoing basis, collaborate, recruit and train as needed other musicians.
4. Support the school in planning and implementing liturgical and related music practices.
5 . Facilitate and guide the maintenance and repair of all musical equipment and sound system(s).
