Job Description
Saint Pius X Parish in Granger, IN, is seeking a full-time Assistant Director of Religious Education to help oversee faith formation of over 450 students in grades Kindergarten through eighth grade.Responsibilities include:
*Maintain staff presence and assist in the classroom as needed for the various RE programs: Sunday Catechesis, Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, Family Catechesis and the Merici Program.
*Coordinating the Children's Liturgy of the Word program and other existing children's programs.
*Providing support to the Religious Education and sacramental preparation programs.
*Collaborating with members of the Faith Formation staff to provide children's and adult programming for the parish.
*Communicate regularly with Religious Education families concerning registration deadlines, enrichment opportunities, parish-wide events and policy compliance.
*Providing administrative support to the Director of Faith Formation.
Preferred candidate qualification:
*Bachelor's degree in theology, pastoral ministry, or a closely related field.
*A minimum of one to three years of experience in ministry or education.
*Must be a practicing Catholic in good standing and committed to stewardship as a way of life.
*Excellent written and oral communication skills.
*Proficient in traditional computer programs and communication technology.
*Able to operate independently to develop and implement new projects, collaborating with parish staff and volunteers as needed.
