What You'll Do:
Assist the Chief Financial Officer and Finance Team to ensure financial operations reflect the Vision, Mission, Values, and strategic plans of the Society in the United States are implemented professionally, on time and within budget.

Duties performed are relative to the accounting functions of National Council of SVdP and its subsidiaries, Disaster Services Corporation-SVDPUSA, SVDP National Foundation and SVDP National Stores:

• Perform monthly account analysis and prepare reconciliations and related schedules.
• Collaborate with other teams in overlapping financial reporting functions.
• Support the evaluation of insurance coverages, investment holdings, and cash management requirements.
• Assist CFO in the preparation of annual budgets, preparation of monthly financial statements, activity reports, and quarterly reforecasting.
• Responsible, in conjunction with CFO, to monitor and facilitate adherence to procedures necessary to comply with established policies and procedures.
• Maintain financial and tax records in compliance with established retention policy.
• Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and in compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws including 501(c)3 issues and rules for financial and tax reporting.
• Manage data exchange between the National Council and auditors for performance of consolidated annual audits and preparation of forms 990 and 5500.
• Continually grow in knowledge of developments and trends in finance and administration, including digital solutions.

What You Need:
• Accounting and Finance team experience.
• People skills with ability to deal responsively with internal and external customers.
• Problem solving and ability to work independently.
• Collaborate with others to successfully implement solutions.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Bachelor of Science in Accounting, CPA license a plus.
• Knowledge of not-for-profit organization operations.
• Firsthand experience and familiarity with banking, investment, and accounting procedures.
• Proficient in the use and application of QuickBooks and Microsoft Office, Excel Pivot Tables and/or Power BI.
