Job Title Empowered Youth Educator
Classification Staff | Part Time Non-Exempt
Reports to Empowered Youth Educator

Position Description
Using evidence-based curriculum, backed by medical research and social science, Empowered Youth Educators aim to engage young people through dynamic, interactive, relationship education to prevent teen pregnancies, STIs and youth engagement of risky behaviors.

Primary Functions
• Educate youth in schools throughout Lancaster County.
• Work with Empowered Youth Site Manager to gain access to local schools.
• Prepare lesson plans and deliver presentations using REAL Essentials (RE) in schools or other at-risk youth organizations.
• Assist at various educational venues.
• Collect and assemble data from teacher and student surveys.

Qualifications

* Prior related experience preferred.
* High School diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred).

* Excellent technology, oral and written communication skills.
* Excellent problem solving and organization skills.

* Adept with current technology and able to learn new skills; Proficient in Word, Zoom, and Power Point and/or Prezi.

* Must exhibit a high degree of respect for all students, regardless of age, religion, ethnicity, gender or socio-economic background.
* Excellent communication skills and a natural engagement with adolescents.
* The ability to prepare and teach lesson plans within a timely manner.
* Flexible schedule.

Upon hire, ability to secure Child Abuse Clearance, State Police Clearance and FBI Fingerprinting and Criminal Background Check. On an annual basis, participate in training for mandated reporting of child abuse.

Physical Demands
Activities in performance of duties include sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, lifting up to 25lbs, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, keystroking on a keyboard or similar device, talking, hearing and seeing.
