Job Description
Nativity Catholic School is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Physical Education (PE) Teacher to join our faculty. We are a Preschool through 8th-grade Catholic school committed to academic excellence, faith formation, and holistic student development. As we strive for STEMSchool of Excellence recognition, we integrate innovation and cross-curricular learning into all aspects of education-including physical education.
Position Overview
The PE Teacher will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive physical education program that promotes physical fitness, sportsmanship, teamwork, and a lifelong appreciation for health and wellness. The ideal candidate will create an engaging,
inclusive, and developmentally appropriate program that aligns with Catholic values and encourages students to reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and deliver engaging PE lessons for students in Preschool through 8th grade.
Foster a positive and inclusive environment that promotes physical activity, teamwork, and personal growth.
Teach a variety of sports, fitness activities, and health concepts appropriate for different age levels.
Organize and lead school-wide fitness events, field days, and extracurricular activities.
Collaborate with classroom teachers and integrate STEM concepts where applicable (e.g., biomechanics, sports science, data tracking).
Ensure students develop skills in coordination, strength, endurance, and sportsmanship.
Maintain a safe and structured learning environment, following school policies and procedures.
Serve as a role model of Christian values and ethics in all interactions with students, families, and staff.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or a related field.
Teaching certification (or ability to obtain one) preferred.
Experience working with elementary and middle school students.
Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
Passion for promoting physical fitness and well-being in a faith-based setting.
