Job Description

POSITION DESCRIPTION

This position is a full-time position based in Washington, DC. The Communications Associate is an integral member of the Foundation working to raise awareness and funds for Holy Family Hospital.

The Communications Associate is responsible for communications including print and online messaging, branding, event coordination and outreach. The ideal candidate is a skilled writer who can promote the organization through a variety of platforms. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite a plus. He/she must be comfortable interfacing with donors and overseeing multiple projects simultaneously throughout the year.

REPORTS TO:
The Communications Associate reports to the Foundation Director.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

COMMUNICATIONS
• Write, design and collaborate on donor solicitation, cultivation, and stewardship pieces for print and online audiences (bi-annual newsletter, annual appeals, case materials, brochures, annual report, invitations, etc.)
• Craft and implement email and written marketing campaigns to targeted constituents
• Ensure that all materials align with Foundation brand guidelines, voice and mission
• Coordinate with Development and Community Outreach Associate on event and parish outreach campaigns

EVENTS and PARISH OUTREACH
• Design creative print and electronic invitations and implement mailings with printers and staff
• Design marketing materials for parish fundraising efforts in cooperation with staff

SOCIAL MEDIA
• Oversee and collaborate with our digital marketing consultant and Foundation President to create fresh content for our social media including Facebook, Instagram and X
• Support our social media presence and partnerships on all platforms

WEBSITE
• Oversee the maintenance of the Foundation website to ensure accuracy
• Troubleshoot website issues by working with digital marketing consultant as necessary
• Conduct bi-annual reviews to ensure website is clear, functional and relevant

ADMINISTRATIVE
• Maintain relationships with consultants and vendors, including graphic designers, printers, and digital marketing consultants
• Maintain emails in database
• Manage inventory for all marketing materials such as letterhead, brochures, envelopes, case materials etc.
• Perform other duties as necessary

IDEAL CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree with 3 years of experience in communications
• Strong writing and verbal communication skills
• Experience in Raisers Edge NXT or similar fundraising platform
• Interest in working for a Catholic organization
• Understanding of Catholic Social Teaching and comfort working with Church hierarchy a strong plus
• Graphic design experience especially with Adobe Creative Suite a plus
• Ability to travel as needed
