Job Description

Bishop Thomas K. Gorman Catholic School announces an opening for a High School/Middle School English teacher for the 2025-2026 school year.

Candidates will:

• Understand how English is a key component in teaching the Liberal Arts
• Demonstrate strong communication skills
• Assess student progress and provide feedback on their academic performance
• Communicate with parents or guardians regarding student progress and any concerns
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and assessments
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
• Utilize technology and other resources to enhance the learning experience
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners
• Must undergo a background check and complete the Ethics and Integrity Program of the Diocese of Tyler, Texas
• Possess or be willing to obtain a valid Texas teaching certificate
• Bachelor's degree in English; Master's degree preferred

Salary will be commensurate with experience. Relocation expenses are negotiable.
