Job Description

Position: Communications and Events Coordinator
Reports To: Chief of Staff and Vice President
Position Type: Part-Time

Description:
The St. John Paul II Foundation is a national Catholic apostolate proclaiming the Good News about life and family through education and formation. We accomplish our mission through three hallmark initiatives - Together in Holiness, Converging Roads, and Clergy Initiatives. The Communication and Events Coordinator will ensure the development and implementation of various communication projects and events to support the mission, philanthropy efforts, and operations of the St. John Paul II Foundation and will possess a desire to spread the mission of the Foundation in effective, creative, and faithful ways.

Major Duties:

Communication/Marketing:
1. Develop and implement a strategic plan for monthly newsletters and social media pages and maintain accurate records and data for email communications to the Foundation's constituent base.
2. Draft and create content for special event communications and fundraising campaigns through the Foundation's email marketing and social media platforms.
3. Support Executive Assistant to the President or Senior Administrative Coordinator with collecting, organizing, and preparing relevant documents, reports, and presentations for the Office of the President and Philanthropy Team.
4. Draft emails and assist with communications to support efforts of the Philanthropy Team.
5. Assist with mailings, thank you letters, and other print communication distributions.
6. Manage membership and communications for Catholic Medical Association Guilds including member databases, e-Newsletters, website updates, and email correspondence.

Event Support:
1. Lead annual large-scale event coordination efforts for Catholic Medical Association Guilds with marketing and outreach, ticket sales, venue logistics, maintaining budget, and arranging speaker logistics.
2. Coordinate monthly or quarterly meetings for the Catholic Medical Association Guilds.
3. Support the Executive Assistant to the President and Senior Administrative Coordinator in executing the Foundation's annual events, From the Heart of Texas Barbecue Social and Splendor of Truth Gala.

Miscellaneous:
1. Support the other departments of the Foundation through various communication or event-related projects and assignments, as needed.
2. Contribute to the professional environment and Catholic culture of the St. John Paul II Foundation.
3. Participate in staff meetings and other events connected with the Foundation and perform other duties as assigned by the President.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (preferably in Communications, Marketing, Leadership, or Business Administration) and/or relevant experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, Email Marketing Platforms (E.g. Mailchimp, Constant Contact, etc.), Canva, and other media applications.
Strong organizational and project management skills, as well as excellent attention to detail.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Strong Candidates will:
Manifest a passion for the Church's teaching on the Gospel of the Family and the Gospel of Life.
Exhibit an ability to independently move projects forward, prioritize tasks, and meet various deadlines across multiple projects.
Maintain a high level of professionalism in working with Church officials, staff, partners, and benefactors.
Possess strong analytical skills to implement and execute a successful strategy.

This position is located in the Greater Houston area. The ideal candidate will be in the area or willing to relocate. Limited travel may be required. Compensation is commensurate with education and experience.
