Job Description
This position is located in Wilmington, Delaware. The Catholic Diocese of Wilmington is seeking an Associate Superintendent to work within the Catholic Schools Office. The Associate Superintendent will collaborate with the Superintendent and other members of the Catholic Schools Office in implementing the goals and objectives of the Catholic Schools Office, especially by overseeing programs that impact the faith formation, academic rigor, and service opportunities in schools.Essential Functions:
- Serves as a liaison with assigned schools on a regular basis throughout the school year.
- Participates in supervision of assigned schools and coaching of assigned school personnel.
- Assists in planning and implementing diocesan school-wide events.
- Plans and implements diocesan-wide professional development programs related to faith, learning, and service.
- Leads both school and principal evaluation programs.
- Supports the diocesan mentoring program.
- Provides guidance and support to school strategic planning efforts.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Lives as a practicing Catholic, in good standing, able to speak and witness to the sacramental life of the Church.
- An advanced degree (Master's or higher) from an accredited institution in Education, Educational Administration, or Educational Leadership.
- A minimum of three years' teaching experience and three years' administrative experience in a Catholic school.
- Knowledge of elementary and/or secondary curriculum and pedagogy.
- An understanding of and passion for Catholic school education.
- An understanding of the Catholic Church at parish, diocesan, and national levels.
- A commitment to the Diocesan educational mission.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and Google suite.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to identify and apply strategies for conflict management.
- Trustworthy and discreet with confidential/sensitive materials, information, and data.
- Ability to travel throughout the footprint of the Diocese of Wilmington.
- Ability to build trust and rapport with individuals from diverse cultural, socio-economic, and ethnic backgrounds.
- Willingness to consent to and ability to pass a criminal background check in accordance with applicable laws.
