Job Description

Immaculata- La Salle Catholic High School, a private school located in Miami, Florida is looking to hire a qualified and experienced Theology Teacher that is passionate about education in the Catholic faith for the upcoming 2025-26 school year. The candidate should be able to teach all levels of high school Theology (courses such as Catholicism, Hebrew/Christian Scriptures, Sacraments, Morality, Christians Vocations, World Religions and Peace and Justice). This candidate begins on August 1, 2025, and performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami. Salary will vary based on education and years of experience.

Functions and Responsibilities include:
Demonstrate understanding of Scripture, the pillars of the Catechism of the Catholic Church, Catholic Traditions, Catholic social teachings, and the tasks of catechesis.
Work cooperatively with the Principal, Theology department and Campus Minister in building a faith community; is open to the importance of a personal faith journey.

Qualifications:
Bachelor''s degree in one of the preferred subjects: Religious Studies, Theology, or Pastoral Ministry.
Master's degree in Pastoral Ministry, Theology, or Divinity required. If a candidate does not have a master's degree in the field, s/he must have a willingness to complete one within three years of hire.
A practicing Catholic in good standing who fully adheres to and models the Roman Catholic Church teachings in faith and morals.
Familiarity with iPad applications and a willingness to work with and incorporate technology in the theology classroom.
familiarity with MS Office, online gradebooks and Smart Board; s/he should have a willingness to work with such technology.
ADOM Catechist Certification preferred.
Minimum of one year of experience.
Software Skills: Use of iPad applications, electronic gradebooks and classroom platforms, Clear Touch Screen blackboards, multi-media presentations.
Classroom management and varied teaching and assessing methodologies.
Lesson planning for differentiation.
Supportive and respectful of the mission and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church; experience in Roman Catholic environment preferred.
