Job Description

Position Title: Coordinator of the Office of Worship - Temporary
Reports to: Priest-Secretary to the Archbishop
FLSA Status: Temporary Part-time, Non-exempt
Hours: 30 hours per week
Duration of assignment: November 15, 2024 - June 30, 2025

PRIMARY FUNCTION
The temporary Coordinator of the Office of Worship assists the Priest-Secretary to the Archbishop in the implementation of the mission and vision for liturgical life throughout the Archdiocese of San Francisco. The coordinator is responsible for helping to organize and execute the training of ministers, the planning and celebration of large liturgical events, general office work, and order management.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND REGULAR ACTIVITIES
• Responsible for scheduling and facilitating the annual refresher workshop for readers and extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion
• Archdiocesan Liturgies (e.g. ordinations, priest funerals, Chrism Mass, etc):
o Prepare directional signage for the event
o Take the lead in set up and clean up
o Act as Hospitality Minister
• Manage registration and payments for events
• Preparation of worship aids for Archdiocesan Liturgies
• Coordinate publication orders/sales with Liturgy Training Publications (LTP)
• Prepare Check Requests and Deposits
• Provide basic information to Worship Office callers
• Maintain and promote use of the Archdiocesan website

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
• Ability to work independently and resolve problems by reading old files
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills
• Computer literacy: Proficient in Microsoft 365: WORD, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.; Google Workspace: Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides etc.; Abode Professional; SurveyMonkey, etc.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
• A practicing Catholic who has practical knowledge of the Roman Catholic Church's liturgy
• 2-5 years previous experience as a Catholic Director of Religious Education, Parish secretary, or equivalent position is preferred.
• Valid California Driver License is required
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
• Hours needed: 30.0 hours/ four days a week or flexible.
• 80% office work; 20% field work in Archdiocesan liturgies
• Weekend and evening coverage is common
• Driving throughout the archdiocese to tend to liturgies on a regular basis
• Occasional moderate physical activity, including lifting of light office equipment and materials, not to exceed 35 lbs.
• Misc. bending, walking, lifting and carrying, stair-climbing at Cathedral or other churches in preparation for liturgies.

PAY RANGE: $28.00 -$30.00 per hour
