Job Description

The House Mother is responsible for all aspects of day-to-day operations of the home. This is a live-in position.
Essential Qualifications:
The House Mother should have at least the following education, experience, and skills:
• A Bachelor's degree.
• The ability to recognize signs of illness and safety/injury hazards and respond with prevention interventions.
• Ability to implement policies and procedures.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
• Maturity and sensitivity to cultural and individual differences.
• Ability to maintain professional demeanor while exercising judgment and discretion in work.
• Ability to write reports and correspondence.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Commitment to the mission, values, and goals of Heather's House and Aid for Women, which includes a commitment to pro-life and sexual integrity values.

Essential Functions:
• Promote overall mission, value and goals of the organization.
• Ensure residents and staff members follow best practices for safety.
• Provide a social and moral example to residents while demonstrating Christian values.
• Responsible for providing a nurturing and caring home-like atmosphere.
• Maintain vehicles (if, appropriate).
• Maintain petty cash log and receipts.
• Maintain program statistics.
• Maintain office equipment.
• Coordinate purchase of groceries.
• Coordinate celebration of Mass, and maintain the chapel.
• Coordinate gift-in-kind donations.
• Maintain the baby boutique.
• Train, supervise and evaluate Vitae Corps volunteers.
• Promote the overall well-being of those who live in the home.
• Train and supervise visitors and administrative volunteers and maintain volunteer log.
• Oversee household, ensuring that it is clean, tidy and in working order.
• Ensure that the inside and outside of the building are properly maintained for safety.
• Participate in all meetings essential to position including house and staff meetings.
• Flexibility to attend daytime trainings or meetings outside of regularly scheduled hours.
• Supervise all program communication/documentation, i.e., log entries, incident reports, phone and written communication to residential coordinators, and to external bodies, as appropriate.
• Must have valid driver's license and be able to lift 40 pounds.
